There are heavy duty stainless steel line taps that appear shiny in pictures. Zinc Split Bolt Line Taps ensure electrically tight connections on galvanized wires. If the electric hookup wires are hand wrapped, poor electric contact may develop when the fence is heavily shorted. It is good practice to join electrified fence wires with a Split Bolt Tap by bringing all hot wires at a fence end post into one tap. It will hold up to four wires at once, depending on wire size. If the lower wires make it difficult to maintain proper voltage, it is easy to disconnect wires as needed.
