World Grand Champion in 1947 and 1948, Merry Go Boy strongly influenced the Tennessee Walking Horse breed as both a show horse and a sire. He was a conformation model for the breed and has many times been cited for his distinct and perfect gaits. Among Merry Go Boy's best offspring were World Grand Champions Go Boy's Shadow, Go Boy's Sundust, and Go Boy's Royal Heir.
